Hydraulic Hydro Energy Storage HHS

The Hydraulic Hydro Energy Storage HHS energy storage is a completely new concept for storing very large amounts of energy.. Switching to renewable energy sources like solar and wind energy generates a great need for energy storage devices. The strorage capacity requirement in Germany is estimated at several TWh (1000GWh), currently in Germany there is only a capacity of 40GWh.

The concept of potential energy storage is based on the potential energy of a huge mass of rock, which is raised hydraulically. The efficiency of 80% corresponds to that of a pumped storage power plant, where water is pumped to a higher altitude lake, here under a rock.
